I just came across your site and picture of Austin K2Y ambulances are a rare thing in New Zealand,
Do you have any more information on these?

    • Hi Rupert, All I really know about the Austin K2Y ambulances is that in the 1950s early 1960s the NZ Army operated at least nine of them.

  3. Hello, have you ever heard or have seen a copy of a manual/pamphlet entitled List of Standard Packages issued from Woolwich. (Army Ordnance Department, 1912)? It was also known as CDS 359 in the British Army’s Central Distribution Section (CDS) set of pamphlets used in the First World War?

    • Hi Adam, This is a publication that I have not heard of before. It is something that I will now be keeping an eye out for.

Hi Robert, am very curious about your image of the ‘Light Fragmentation Vest’ as used in Somalia.
Apart from contemporary images of Australian peacekeepers in Somalia I have not found any other reference. Do you know any more details, country of manufacture etc?
I came across your excellent site while researching ADF in Somalia.
    Best! Scott
